For individuals with trypanophobia (fear of invasive medical procedures and needles), this innovation represents a crucial therapeutic and diagnostic solution, and it also benefits children and people with sensitive veins or skin. Furthermore, implementing this technology allows for cost reductions in the healthcare sector, resources that can be redirected to other priority areas. In this context, scientists at the University of Los Andes (ULA) have developed an innovative and unique diagnostic kit, the first of its kind worldwide, that enables the simultaneous detection of Chagas disease, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), and hepatitis C using a single blood sample.
